How it works
Frontivo.io sends each event the moment it happens to a web address (called a webhook) that Zapier, Make or n8n gives you. Each event includes the full lead, booking or conversation details, so you can use names, phone numbers, emails and times in your next step.
A Frontivo.io app in Zapier is coming soon. Until it's listed, connect with Webhooks by Zapier as shown below. It works today.
Events you can send
- lead.created: a new lead is captured. lead.updated: a lead's status changes.
- appointment.created, appointment.updated and appointment.cancelled: a booking is made, changed or cancelled.
- call.completed: a phone call ends.
- handoff.requested: a conversation needs a person on your team.
- transfer.missed: a live call transfer wasn't picked up by anyone on your team.
- customer.waiting: a customer your team is handling wrote again, or is still waiting for a reply. It includes the start of their message, and stillWaiting is true for the reminder.
Test conversations from the Channel tester are never sent. Only real customers are.
Connect Zapier
You need a paid Zapier plan (Professional or higher). Webhooks by Zapier isn't part of Zapier's Free plan.
- 1Log in to Zapier and click Create a Zap in the left sidebar.
- 2Click the Trigger step and search for Webhooks by Zapier.
- 3Choose Catch Hook in the Event list and click Continue.
- 4Click Copy next to the webhook address Zapier shows you (it starts with https://hooks.zapier.com).
- 5In Frontivo.io, open Integrations and click For developers.
- 6Click the Webhooks tile, then click Add endpoint on its card.
- 7Paste the Zapier address into Endpoint URL.
- 8Tick the event you want, for example lead.created.
- 9Click Add endpoint, then click Send test event on the new endpoint.
- 10Go back to Zapier and click Test trigger. You should see the test event with fields like Data Lead Name.
- 11Click Continue and add your action (for example Google Sheets > Create Spreadsheet Row), matching the Frontivo.io fields to your columns.
- 12Click Publish to switch your Zap on.
Zapier's Zap history lists every run, so you can see each lead or booking that went through.
Connect Make
Make's free plan includes webhooks.
- 1Log in to Make and click Create a new scenario.
- 2Click the big plus, search for Webhooks and choose Custom webhook.
- 3Click Add next to Webhook.
- 4Type a name in Webhook name (for example "Frontivo.io leads") and click Save.
- 5Click Copy address to clipboard.
- 6Click Run once at the bottom of the editor, so Make waits for a test.
- 7In Frontivo.io, open Integrations and click For developers.
- 8Click the Webhooks tile, then click Add endpoint on its card and paste the Make address into Endpoint URL.
- 9Tick the events you want (for example lead.created) and click Add endpoint.
- 10Click Send test event, then check the webhook module in Make shows the test data.
- 11Add the next module (for example Google Sheets > Add a Row) and pick the Frontivo.io fields you want, like data > lead > name.
- 12Click Save, then switch the scenario on and choose Immediately as data arrives.
Connect n8n
You can use n8n Cloud, or your own n8n with a public https:// address. Frontivo.io can't send to a computer on your private network.
- 1In n8n, create a new workflow.
- 2Click Add first step, search for Webhook and choose it.
- 3Set HTTP Method to POST.
- 4Click Test URL and copy the address shown.
- 5Click Listen for test event.
- 6In Frontivo.io, open Integrations and click For developers.
- 7Click the Webhooks tile, then click Add endpoint on its card and paste the address into Endpoint URL.
- 8Tick the events you want and click Add endpoint.
- 9Click Send test event, then check n8n shows the test data.
- 10Add your next steps in n8n (for example Google Sheets or Slack) using the test data's fields.
- 11Open the Webhook node again, click Production URL and copy that address.
- 12In Frontivo.io, delete the test endpoint (bin icon) and add a new endpoint with the Production URL, ticking the same events.
- 13Click Publish in n8n to make the workflow live.
Guides for popular apps
The Integrations page has step-by-step guides for apps you can reach through Zapier. Type the app's name in Search integrations to open its guide:
- Job and field service software: Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan and ZenMaid (for cleaning companies - see Connect ZenMaid).
- CRMs: Salesforce, Zoho CRM, Keap, Follow Up Boss and Clio.
- Work tools: monday.com, Airtable, Notion and Trello.
- Accounting and payments: QuickBooks, Xero, Stripe and PayPal.
- Email: Gmail and Outlook.
Just want leads in a spreadsheet, or alerts in Slack? You don't need Zapier for those: see Google Sheets, Mailchimp and Klaviyo and team alerts.
Check an event really came from Frontivo.io
Every event is signed. Frontivo.io adds an X-Webhook-Signature header: an HMAC-SHA256 of the request body, made with the endpoint's Signing secret (shown on each endpoint under Webhooks). Your developer can check it to be sure the event came from Frontivo.io. Zapier, Make and n8n work without it.
To replace a secret, click New secret on the endpoint. The old one stops working straight away.
Disconnect
Switch the Zap, scenario or workflow off in Zapier, Make or n8n. Then, in Frontivo.io under Webhooks, click the delete (bin) icon next to its address, or turn the endpoint's switch off to pause it.
Troubleshooting
Zapier says it can't find any requests
Check the whole Zapier address is in Endpoint URL. Click Send test event again, wait a few seconds, then click Test trigger.
I can't find Webhooks by Zapier, or Zapier says I need to upgrade
It needs a paid Zapier plan. Upgrade in Zapier, or use Make instead: its free plan includes webhooks.
Make didn't receive the test event
Click Run once in Make first, then click Send test event in Frontivo.io within a minute. Missing fields? Open the webhook module, click Redetermine data structure and send the test again.
n8n got the test, but real events don't arrive
The Test URL only works while n8n is listening. Replace it in Frontivo.io with the Production URL and check the workflow is published.
Frontivo.io says the address isn't allowed
The address must be public and start with https://. Addresses like localhost or 192.168.x.x only work inside your own network.
The test worked but real leads don't arrive
Check the Zap or scenario is switched on and the endpoint under Webhooks in Frontivo.io is still switched on. If the line under its address says Paused after repeated failures, fix the problem in your other tool, then click Turn back on. Leads from the Channel tester are never sent, so try a real chat on your website.
I can't see Add endpoint
Webhooks come with Growth, and only people with the Manage webhooks and secret keys permission can add them. Ask your account owner.
