Which countries support phone calls?

Every country. Where Frontivo.io sells numbers (the table), your AI answers on a local number. Everywhere else you get a US (+1) number in a few seconds, and in every country you can keep your own number and forward its calls to your Frontivo.io number - forwarding is a setting from your phone company.

Which countries support text messages (SMS)?

The countries marked Yes in the Text messages column. Texting depends on the number type: in many countries local numbers take calls only, while mobile numbers text. US numbers text after a one-time approval from the US phone companies, which we submit for you. Where no texting number exists, use WhatsApp for messages or a US number for texts to North America.

Which countries support WhatsApp?

Every country where WhatsApp itself works - that is everywhere except China, North Korea, Iran and Syria, where WhatsApp is blocked. You can run it on your own number (no Frontivo.io number needed) or on any Frontivo.io number from the table.

Why does my country say After documents?

The telecom regulator there requires proof of a business before a number can be issued - usually the business registration and a local address. Click Get my phone number, upload the documents from the Phone calls card, and the number is connected automatically once they are approved, usually in 1-3 business days. There is nothing to pay for this step.

My country isn't in the table. What are my options?

Our phone provider doesn't sell numbers there yet. The Phone calls card offers a US (+1) number instead - one click, ready in seconds - and your AI answers calls and texts on it. Use WhatsApp on your own number for messages, and website chat for your site. WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger open soon, once Meta's approval is through: reserve WhatsApp Only, Instagram Only, Messenger Only or Growth at no charge. Forwarding your own line to the US number works if your phone plan allows international forwarding; check what a minute costs first.

Can I move (port) my existing number to Frontivo.io?

In the countries marked Yes in the last column. US numbers move automatically from the Phone calls card; the other countries sign a short form and the move takes 1-6 weeks. Elsewhere, keep the number with your phone company and forward its calls - customers notice no difference.

Does the phone number cost extra?

Usually not. Plans with calls or texts include one Frontivo.io number, and a US or Canadian number never costs extra. In many other countries, including the UK, Australia, Japan and most of Europe, the number is included in your plan too. Where numbers cost more than $5 a month to keep, the number has a monthly local-number fee (for example $20 a month for a local number in the Philippines), charged once a month with any extra usage. The fee is for keeping the number, not a charge per call, so it's the same when you forward your existing line to it. You see the exact amount on the Phone calls card and confirm it before the number is set up. The Frontivo.io number column shows the likely fee under each country, and Team confirms price for the few countries where a person checks it with you before connecting the number. Call minutes and texts also count differently by country: see the 1 call minute uses column and how texts are counted.

Which countries pay nothing for the phone number, and which have a fee?

The number is included in your plan, with no fee, in: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czechia, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Romania, South Africa, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States. If I keep my own number and forward my calls, do I still pay the local-number fee?

Yes, if your country has one. Your AI answers calls on your Frontivo.io number, so forwarding your existing number still needs that number - and the fee is for keeping it, not a charge per call. It's the same whether your callers are local or abroad, and however many calls you get. With a local Frontivo.io number, callers in your country make a normal local call, and forwarding to it is usually charged as a local call on your phone plan. How up to date is this table?

It is read from our phone provider once a day, so it shows what can actually be bought today. Countries appear as the provider adds them. If a country changes between checks, the Phone calls card in your dashboard always shows the live answer when you click Get my phone number.

These three run on a phone number, and what a number can do is set by each country's regulator and phone companies. Here is how each one works, then the table shows your country.

Phone calls

Almost every Frontivo.io number takes calls, so the question is mostly how you get one. In the few countries marked No calling numbers, the numbers we can get only text, so forward your own line or use a US number for calls.

In seconds in the US, Canada, Puerto Rico and a few others: click Get my phone number on the Phone calls card.
After documents in most other countries: the regulator wants your business registration and address first. The card asks for them and connects the number automatically once approved, usually in 1-3 business days.
With a monthly fee where numbers cost more than $5 a month to keep: the card shows the exact monthly local-number fee and asks you to confirm; the number is yours the moment you do. In the few countries where a number costs a lot more, our team confirms the price with you first, usually within 1-3 business days.
Anywhere else: one click gives you a US (+1) number in seconds. Forward your own line to it (check your plan allows forwarding abroad), or let customers abroad call it directly.

How the AI phone receptionist works

Text messages (SMS)

Texting depends on the number type. Local numbers in many countries take calls only; mobile numbers text.

The table shows which number types text in each country. When you want texts, the card picks a texting number for you.
US numbers need a one-time texting approval from the US phone companies before the AI can text. Fill in your business details on the Text messages card and we submit it for you.
Two-way texting (customers texting you back) works with a number from the customer's own country. Texts to the US and Canada need a US or Canadian number.

How AI text messaging works

Works in every country where WhatsApp itself works, on your own number or a Frontivo.io number. WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger open soon, once Meta's approval is through: reserve WhatsApp Only, Instagram Only, Messenger Only or Growth at no charge.

Your own number: click Use my existing number on the WhatsApp card. WhatsApp sends a 6-digit code to that number by text or call; type it on the card. Works even where we sell no numbers.
A Frontivo.io number: click Turn on WhatsApp and it is set up on your number, usually within a few minutes. Any number in the table can be used.
Your number can only be on WhatsApp in one place. If it is on the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app today, you delete that WhatsApp account first. That erases its chats and their backup and you leave your groups, so export the chats you want to keep first (Export chat) - the guide shows how. Afterwards you can't use the number in the WhatsApp app, and every WhatsApp message to it goes to your AI and Inbox.
WhatsApp is blocked in China, North Korea, Iran and Syria, so it can't work there on any number.
