Turn on two-step sign-in

Takes 2 minutesYou need: A phone with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password or Authy)

With two-step sign-in on, logging in asks for your password (or Google, Microsoft or Facebook) and then a 6-digit code from an app on your phone. Someone who learns your password still can't get in. It's optional, and each person turns it on for their own login.

Turn it on

  1. 1Click Team in the menu and find the card Two-step sign-in.
  2. 2Click Set up two-step sign-in.
  3. 3Open your authenticator app, tap + (or Add account) and scan the QR code. Can't scan? Choose Enter a setup key and type the key shown under the QR code.
  4. 4Type the 6-digit code the app shows, then click Turn on.
  5. 5Save your 10 recovery codes: click Download as a file or Copy, keep them somewhere safe (a password manager is best), then click I've saved them.

Turning it on signs you out on your other devices. The device you're using stays signed in.

Recovery codes are shown only once. We keep only a scrambled copy, so we can't show them to you again.

Signing in with it on

  1. 1Log in as usual with your email and password, or with Continue with Google (or Microsoft or Facebook).
  2. 2Open your authenticator app and type the 6-digit code for Frontivo.io.
  3. 3Click Continue.

You have 10 minutes to enter the code. Resetting your password doesn't skip it: after a reset, we still ask for the code.

No phone with you? Type one of your recovery codes instead. Each one works once, and we email you when one is used.

New recovery codes, or turn it off

  1. 1Click Team in the menu and find Two-step sign-in.
  2. 2Click New recovery codes (your old codes stop working) or Turn off.
  3. 3Type a current code from the app (to turn it off, a recovery code works too), then confirm.

We email you when two-step sign-in is turned off, so you'd know if it wasn't you.

See who on your team has it on

On the Team page, people who turned it on show a Two-step on label next to their name. Nobody, not even the owner, can see anyone's codes. The owner and co-owners also see when someone turns it on or off under Security activity.

Troubleshooting

The code doesn't work

Codes change every 30 seconds, so type the newest one. Check the app entry says Frontivo.io and your email. If it still fails, turn on automatic date and time on your phone: the code depends on the phone's clock.

It says my sign-in timed out

You have 10 minutes after your password to enter the code. Log in again and type the newest code.

I lost my phone and my recovery codes

Email support@frontivo.io from the email address you log in with. After we've checked it's really you, we turn off two-step sign-in for your login and email you to confirm. Then log in with your password and set it up again on your new phone.

Too many tries

After 5 tries within 5 minutes we pause to keep your account safe. Wait 5 minutes, then type the newest code.
